Updated Guideline Availability
We have two new updated guidelines to share:
- Palliative Care for Adults Guideline defines appropriate evaluations and outcomes. This guideline attempts to equip the clinician with knowledge of appropriate discussions, clinical interventions, and utilization of palliative care and hospice. This guideline is appropriate for adult patients who still desire curative or life-prolonging treatments, or patients who are best served by active end-of-life management.
- The recently updated ICSI Perioperative Guideline has been enhanced to include a new section, Perioperative Opioid Management. The new section addresses the entire continuum of Perioperative Opioid Management (preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative). The scope and target population is adults (18 years of age and older) undergoing elective surgery.

Low Back Pain, Adult Acute and Subacute

Adult patients age 18 and over in primary care who have symptoms of low back pain or radiculopathy. The focus is on the acute (pain for up to 7 weeks) and subacute (pain for between 7 and 12 weeks) phases of low back pain. It includes the ongoing management, including indications for spine specialist referral within the first 12 weeks of onset.
