As a stereotypical male, I was embarrassed and hesitant to seek help for my depression. At my initial consultation, my doctor strongly suggested that I enter the DIAMOND program. Thankfully, I took his advice. DIAMOND has significantly changed my life, and participating in it was a rewarding experience. My doctor and care manager worked WITH me and FOR me. They discussed treatment options and courses of action. I actively participated in my recovery and gained the tools to recognize and combat the symptoms of depression. With my doctor’s and care manager’s counsel and encouragement, I brought my depression under control. I am moving ahead with my life, no longer depressed, confidant, and carrying the tools necessary to "pick myself up" should I ever stumble in the future.
