As you know, ICSI will be closing its doors officially on January 1, 2024. As we move closer to the year’s end, our staff, working group members and partners are working hard to ensure that all of our initiatives are successfully completed or fully transitioned to a new home.
I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on our progress on these initiatives and our transition plans as they stand today. First, it’s important to note that all ICSI programming will end by mid-December, although I expect some to wrap up well before that time. While some are contracts or grants already planned to finish this year, others will be transitioned either by continuing as contract work or transferred to another organization.
We have a number of initiatives going on, some of which I’ll speak more to in the future. For now, here are a few highlights of our 2024 work:
- As an extension of the Mental Health Support for the Healthcare Workforce effort, we are gathering “lessons learned” from the pandemic crisis on ways to better support the healthcare workforce ongoing. We’ll be presenting a webinar on this topic on July 28 from 12:15 – 1 pm. This is a free session and one I highly recommend you attend. Click here to learn more about it.
- The Zero Suicide collaborative continues through the end of September 2024. Specific learnings and advancements that healthcare systems are now making will be disseminated in several ways this fall, so stay posted on this subject.
- ICSI’s Mental Health Steering Committee has identified the top issues to be addressed following the pandemic, including the need for more Collaborative Approaches in Primary Care for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. We are holding a series of conversations with health plans, care delivery organizations, and others on this topic and once again, you’ll hear more later this summer and fall.
- DHS recently contracted with ICSI to provide quality improvement support for the Opioid Prescribing Improvement Project (OPIP). Healthcare organizations taking part in the QI part of this project have received information from DHS on regular webinars ICSI will offer to them starting next week. Read more about the opioid work here.
It’s important to note that ICSI continues our good work this year, and we’ll continue to update you on our progress in these and other important initiatives. We’ll also be hosting an event to celebrate ICSI sometime this fall so stay tuned for news on that as well!
Best,
