Influence and Implement Best Practices

ICSI’s foundation is evidence-based care and, coupled with our members’ willingness to share findings, offers the best opportunity for your organization to practice best medicine.

ICSI Guidelines
ICSI’s evidence-based guidelines support best practice medicine. ICSI members have exclusive free access to our guidelines, plus tools that facilitate guideline usage and clinical improvement processes. This support is one reason why Minnesota leads the nation in care for those with hypertension, diabetes and depression.
Example
The CDC incorporated ICSI’s Hypertension Guideline into its Million Hearts® Campaign because Minnesota has achieved the best hypertension control in the U.S.
“Thanks for letting us post ICSI’s hypertension treatment protocol on the Million Hearts webpage. I look forward to our continued partnership to improve blood pressure control and prevent heart attacks and strokes in the U.S.”

Tom Frieden, MD, Director, Centers for Disease Control
Patient Partnerships
ICSI can partner with you to co-create strategies that engage your communities and help citizens share ownership in their own health and wellness.
Example
ICSI has helped Lake Region Healthcare and Montevideo Hospital and Clinic to engage their local stakeholders to co-create sustainable healthy communities.
“ICSI was instrumental in helping us develop a rural health model that works. Community involvement is a cornerstone of this work and ICSI showed us how to engage our community in conversations about achieving the Triple Aim.”

Larry Schulz, President & CEO, Lake Region Healthcare

Improve Quality/Processes
Organizations need a strong Quality Improvement infrastructure to support rapid system change. ICSI helps its members embed a culture of quality and implement best clinical practices systemwide.

Example
Medical groups complete quality improvement training to fulfill their ICSI membership requirements.

“We continually focus on improving the quality and value of health care we deliver. ICSI has been a key partner in this work. As our efforts are challenged by health care reform, ICSI is actively working on our behalf to meet these needs and facilitate coordination among many organizations. That is a value-add to our organization."

Rachelle Schultz, CEO, Winona Health
