Foundations of Motivational Interviewing Workshop

Event is Full

Patients are complex. What motivates one person might not motivate another. Sometimes it seems that the right health choices are right in front of them, but they just can’t seem to move forward. How can you help? Attend our two-part workshop this spring, one of ICSI’s most popular educational offerings.

Motivational interviewing is patient-centered, and uses a guiding style to engage patients to clarify their strengths and hopes, evoke their motivation for change and promote autonomy in decision-making.

Two Half-Day Sessions to Accommodate Your Busy Schedule

This two-part workship gives you the opportunity to go deeper, with time to practice in between sessions and build on what you’ve learned. These sessions are highly interactive and include a mix of didactic presentation, videos and hands-on practice and feedback. You’ll receive handouts with practical tools for future review and ongoing practice.

Objectives

  • Understand context for meaningful behavior change
  • Learn foundational motivational interviewing skills
  • Practice using real life situations and common encounters
