Colorectal Cancer Screening Evidence Brief

REVISION DATE: JUNE 2019 / First Edition

SUMMARY

The American Cancer Society recently recommended the Colon Cancer screening begin at age 45; this recommendation differs from the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) which recommends routine screening starting at age 50.  This evidence brief provides a brief summary of the recommendations, the evidence, and gives guidance for clinicians on how to talk to patients about the controversy.
