Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United State. However, this cancer is preventable, treatable and beatable. ICSI has worked with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and American Cancer Society for several years on increasing the colorectal cancer screening rate in Minnesota. The National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable has set a goal of 80 percent of adults aged 50 and older screened by 2018. This one-year collaborative, a partnership between ICSI, the American Cancer Society and the Minnesota Department of Health, focused on increasing colorectal cancer screening rates. The collaborative utilized MN Community Measurement for outcome data. Read the report.
