RARE Campaign Reduces Avoidable Readmissions
This campaign has prevented 7,030 avoidable hospitals readmissions to date, helping Minnesotans spend 28,120 more nights in their own beds and saving more than $55 million. ICSI helped launch RARE, along with Minnesota Hospital Association and Stratis Health.
High-Tech Diagnostic Imaging
By giving clinicians an evidence-based, decision-support tool to order appropriate medical images, this ICSI initiative has saved Minnesota more than $230 million to date, prevented an estimated 100 people from getting cancer, and improved the quality of images ordered.
Low Back Pain Initiative
Based on its revised health care guideline and with the help of an advisory committee, ICSI developed the ACTIVE (Active Care Treating Intense low back pain Very Effectively) model. This work helps ensure evidence-based, appropriate care is delivered.
Living with a Life-Limiting Illness Every Day
ICSI designed the LiLLIE model to introduce elements of palliative care as soon as a patient is diagnosed with a serious illness to improve their quality of life and avoid unnecessary costs.
