Bridges to Excellence Award Winners Have ICSI Ties
All of the nine clinics that received the first Bridges to Excellence Awards in Minnesota are members of the Institute for Clinical System Improvement (ICSI) or are affiliated with ICSI.
What’s more, ICSI standards for treating diabetes were used as the measure of their success. The award recipients are: - Affiliated Community Medical Centers, Willmar
- Columbia Park Medical Group, Fridley
- Family HealthServices Minnesota, Maplewood
- HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics, St. Cloud
- HealthPartners Medical Group and Clinics, Minneapolis
- Mayo Clinic, Rochester
- Multicare Associates of the Twin Cities, Blaine
- SuperiorHealth Medical Group, Duluth
- Western Wisconsin Medical Associates, Hudson, New Richmond, and River Falls (the River Falls Medical Clinic is an ICSI member).
The Buyer’s Health Care Action Group (BHCAG) brought the Bridges to Excellence concept to Minnesota. Several large Minnesota employers participate in the program, which recognizes and rewards health care providers who demonstrate that they deliver safe, effective, efficient and patient-centered care. The awards were made for meeting care standards for treating diabetes that were developed by ICSI. MN Community Measurement measures quality and adherence to ICSI guidelines for treating diabetes for more than 90 health care organizations in the state. "This demonstrates that the groups that participate in ICSI have a commitment to developing the systems to support high quality of care for their patients," said ICSI Medical Director Gary Oftedahl, MD. "ICSI provides the standards of care and offers support assisting organizations in putting systems in place to deliver care which is of high quality."
