ICSI is one of five organizations featured in “The Science of Spread: How Innovations in Care Become the Norm.”
The Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI) is one of five organizations featured in "The Science of Spread: How Innovations in Care Become the Norm," a report prepared for the California HealthCare Foundation by Thomas Bodenheimer, MD, adjunct professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. In the report, Bodenheimer summarizes some of the thinking taking place within the emerging science of spreading improvement and provides case studies of health care organizations that have achieved some success in the broad propagation of institutional change. In addition to ICSI, the report summarizes the approaches to the diffusion of innovation used by the Veterans Health Administration, Humboldt-Del Norte Independent Practice Association (California), Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
