All NewsUpdated Depression Guideline Available
The new ICSI Depression in Primary Care guideline is now available. It has been 20 years since ICSI issued its first depression guideline. With this revision, the guideline was restructured into four main sections to more clearly highlight the evidence-based practices in each area: screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The most significant updates were in the treatment area: major depressive disorder treatment recommendations were expanded, and new sections were added on persistent depressive disorder and treatment recommendations for pure dysthymia and chronic major depression. At its March, 2016 meeting, the ICSI Board of Directors approved moving Natalis Counseling and Psychology Solutions and Lakewood Health System to full membership status. Each organization completed a quality improvement project:
- Natalis Counseling and Psychology Solutions: Increase utilization of HDI Connect (a self-reporting standardized patient-reporting scale for improved care outcomes)
- Lakewood Health System: Improve its Potentially Preventable Readmission rate using a readmission risk assessment tool and enhanced post-discharge process
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming these new members to the ICSI collaborative table! Learn more.
