Health Care Guidelines as Engines for Improvement

Sponsored by the Institute for Clinical Systems Integration (ICSI) in Minneapolis, Health Care Guidelines as Engines for Improvement covers the ICSI medical groups’ experiences in using continual improvement methods to develop and implement health care guidelines.

Seminar presentations cover:

Dates, Times, & Locations
Each seminar runs from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the following Fridays in 1998:
• April 3
• June 5
• August 28
• October 30
All sessions are held in the ICSI office located in the Riverview Tower, 8009 34th Ave. South, Suite 1200, in Bloomington, Minnesota—a suburb of Minneapolis.

Registration Information
To provide an ideal environment for answering questions and to promote sharing between organizations, attendance is limited. However, we encourage more than one person from the same organization to register. Participants have said this seminar is most valuable when two or three people from the same organization attend together.

To register:
• Fill out the registration form
• Submit the form by mail or fax to the address/fax number printed on the bottom of the form
• Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are completed when ICSI receives your payment.
• ICSI will reserve your space for three weeks. After three weeks, ICSI will release your space to other organizations.

Fees
$150 per person
(includes the seminar, handouts, continental breakfast and lunch)

Cancellations and Substitutions
• ICSI will refund your registration in-full if your cancellation is received at least one month in advance of the seminar.
• We cannot provide refunds for cancellations received less than one month in advance of the seminar.
• You may apply your registration in-full to a future session on a space availability basis.
• One person may be substituted for another at any time.
• ICSI reserves the right to cancel the seminar. Registration fees may be refunded or applied to a future session, at the registrant's option.

Overnight Accommodations
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and hotel accommodations. ICSI offices are located next door to the Holiday Inn Appletree Square (612/854-9000). Other hotels located within a mile of ICSI include:

The ICSI office and all of these hotels are a fifteen minute taxi ride from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.

About ICSI
An independent, non-profit organization, ICSI provides health care quality improvement services to 19 medical groups affiliated with HealthPartners in central and southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The medical groups range in size from 12 practitioners in Shoreview, Minnesota to more than 1,000 physicians and medical scientists at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

ICSI facilitates the exchange of strategies and methods for implementing best clinical practices between medical groups and assists with developing the most effective ways to measure the improvement of care. Throughout its efforts, ICSI uses continual quality improvement principles to standardize health care processes and improve health care outcomes.
