Quality Improv(e) Mindset:  Improv for Healthcare Leaders:

Friday | June 19th | noon – 1:00 pm  REGISTER HERE

More than ever before, healthcare leaders need to be flexible, adaptive and nimble as they solve problems and care for patients in the era of COVID-19.  Join ICSI’s Sarah Horst as she teaches leaders how to incorporate the guiding principles of improvisation, or “improv” into their work and create a culture ready to meet people where they are and move forward with a spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and psychological safety.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Appreciate the improvisational nature of your daily work – acting without a script, but not unprepared
  • Describe the Six Guiding Principles of Quality Improv(e) and how to apply them
  • Practice and lead simple improv exercises that foster safe risk taking, teamwork and collaboration

Quality Improv(e) Methods:  Simple Tools to Re-Ignite the Conversation

Friday | July 17, 2020 | Noon – 1:00 pm    REGISTER HERE

Too often we focus on the science of improvement, only to realize that our challenges are relational; we know what we want to do, but how get people to do it is the problem.  In this session you’ll learn simple tools that will help your engagement conversations go further faster.  Participants will explore simple, but powerful activities based on design thinking, appreciative inquiry and liberating structures that are ideal for cultivating ownership in projects as you work to co-create solutions.

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how adaptive engagement methods complement formal quality improvement models
  • Craft questions and conversations that positively influence the direction of your project
  • Collaborate to ensure you are solving the right problems
